How to make a ringtone
- Choose a song or video. Pick a file from your phone or computer. It opens right here in the page.
- Trim the best part. We place the selection on the loudest part for you. Drag the handles, tap a length, and press play to check it.
- Download and set it. Pick iPhone or Android, name your ringtone and download. Then follow the short steps for your phone.
iPhone or Android: which file do I get?
iPhone gets an M4A file of up to 29 seconds. On iOS 26 or later you can set it straight from the Files app. On older versions, GarageBand does the job, and we show you how.
Android gets an MP3, which every Android phone can use: Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi, Redmi, OnePlus, OPPO, realme, vivo and more. You can also make short notification sounds and alarm tones.
Computer gets an M4R file to drag onto your iPhone in Finder or iTunes.
Questions
Is FoneVibe really free?
Yes. There's no sign-up, no watermark and no limit on how many ringtones you make.
Do you upload my song?
No. Your file is read and converted inside your browser. It never reaches our servers, so we can't see or keep it.
Why is the iPhone limit 29 seconds?
iPhone won't accept ringtones of 30 seconds or longer, so iPhone exports stop at 29 seconds. If you copy ringtones from a computer with Finder or iTunes, the M4R export allows up to 40 seconds.
Which files can I use?
MP3, M4A, WAV, AAC, OGG and FLAC audio, plus the sound from MP4 and MOV videos, up to 100 MB. Only use audio you have the right to use, like your own recordings or music you've bought.
Where does the ringtone go after I download it?
Into your phone's Downloads folder. On iPhone that's Files → Downloads. Right after the download we show the steps to set it as your ringtone on your phone.
